PELEA LENTA
1998. Video installation.
2 video channels from VHS players at random speeds.
Variable dimensions
Pelea lenta is an argument between a man and a woman, each one seen in a different video monitor. Each channel is connected to a VHS player. I altered the mechanism in each player in order to prevent either from playing the video at a normal speed. Some times it was shown at a normal speed with audio; others it was in slow-motion; and other times the image remained frozen. These variations were random, making the superiority of the argument between this two persons depend on the random technical luck given by the imperfection of the devices. Pelea lenta is an argument up to fate, depending on the changes of the nature of the medium containing it.
